Love these little Countertop Inspirations books by Barbour Publishing!  Aside from great recipes, this little book has inspirational quotes and is perfect for a stocking stuffer or a hostess gift.  For the purpose of the review we are asked to test out three recipes and I decided to make those that can be taken to several parties during this holiday season.  As well, I’m enclosing a copy of “Easy Crowd Pleasers for Parties” with each hostess gift.

The first recipe I tested was “Frosted Pecan Bites.”  Being that pecans grown abundantly in Texas, I thought this would be a perfect gift.  The end result was sweet and rich and looked great.  The recipe says to bake for 30 minutes but I found this would have been a little too long.  Being there is so much sugar in the recipe I advise to keep a close eye on the baking time, being sure to stir every 10 minutes.

The second recipe I tested was “Pepperoni Rolls.” Using frozen bread dough made this recipe a breeze to make.  The end result is very rich because of the 8 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, and 6 slices of provolone.  I froze the batch (the recipe says you can) until we go to the party this was intended for.  We did pull out several to taste and they were delicious!  I’m sure they will be a hit at the event.

The third recipe I tested was the “Sesame Chicken Strips.”  These made great dippers into the sauce of mayo, honey and mustard.  I did take these to a party and they were a real hit.  Unfortunately the recipe wasn’t large enough so the next time I make these for a party I will double the batch.  They were a hit!

“Easy Crowd Pleasers for Parties: 120 Tasty Recipes” is a great little book, with great recipes.  Don’t know what to give as a hostess gift?  This is it!
