“Personal Finance Tips for You” is a very basic book that provides good information for young people who are just out on their own. If one is a seasoned person they should already know this information.

There are twenty-four chapters that cover topics from credit cards, paying bills on time to retirement.  In each chapter the author gives tips/suggestions on how to successfully accomplish that particular task.  Although this is not new information, I did feel it would work best for those individuals just starting out on their own.  It was easy to read and follow.

As we all struggle with finances today, the authors’ suggestions are very practical. This is a book that I will give to my son to read.  I particularly liked that it was an easy read and easy to understand as sometimes books on finances are so hard to decipher.

I found the chapter on paying yourself to be good. Many times, as most readers know, as soon as we get a paycheck we start paying bills. But as the author states, we have to realize that we worked hard for that money and we need to reward ourselves some.  We also have to realize that we have daily expenses that somehow must be paid for.

Overall I would say that “Personal Finance Tips for You” by Nocita Carter is a good basic financial book.  It is very compact and one can take it with them anywhere to read.
