Is it wrong to get angry if you are a Christian?  Are we supposed to deny our own feelings in order to get along with others and avoid an argument?  Or can we stand up for ourselves even if it means risking a confrontation?  Author Dr. Kenneth R. Norris takes on these long-debated questions in his book, “A Tale of Two Perspectives: Dynamics of Interpersonal Conflict from a Christian Point of View.”  Both enjoyable and informative, the book combines biblical guidelines with an understanding of the delicate human psyche.

“A Tale of Two Perspectives: Dynamics of Interpersonal Conflict from a Christian Point of View” is a fascinating look at the concept of interpersonal conflict and how it relates to a godly lifestyle.  While delving deep into the ‘how’ and ‘why’ conflicts start in the first place, it provides a scriptural foundation in which to build upon.  Norris explains different types of conflict, why perception is much stronger than hard fact, the importance of alternative perspectives, and ways to communicate in order to lessen the risk of conflict in the first place.  He also discusses anger and its appropriate place in Christian life.

I found Norris to be an eloquent writer – expressive and enthusiastic about his subject matter.  He provides a uniquely broad perspective on interpersonal conflict not only as a Christian, but as a church leader, a hospital chaplain, and even a business executive.  He has seen conflict from many angles and this experience gives a multifaceted depth to his discussions.  His down to earthy, non-preachy tone make the book a pleasant and interesting read while the organization and exceptional editing give a professional, polished presentation of the material.

“A Tale of Two Perspectives: Dynamics of Interpersonal Conflict from a Christian Point of View” is highly recommended for Christian readers as well as those interested in human psychology.  Grounded in biblical verse, the book could even serve as an excellent Bible study course, assisting a church’s members with improving their relationships and minimizing potentially devastating congregational problems.  A must read for anyone looking to improve their interpersonal skills, whether with family members, friends, or even business associates!
