“Deadly Crossing” by Royal Bouschor begins when Zack Sinclair, a retired CIA agent living in Mexico is pulled back after five years with the agency. A coded message revealed that the Mexican drug cartel, who smuggled heroin through the Arabs, where also going to smuggle Russian into the United States through the Mexico-US border. Zack’s job is to investigate the drug cartel to find out who this Russian is and why they are smuggling him into the country. So begins the hunt for Little Ivan. In order for him find the answers he is seeking, Zack needs to connect with the cartel and pretend to be a Financial Advisor for a group of businessman from Colorado. I was immediately drawn into the story as I found the involvement of a Russian with the Mexican cartel to be a very interesting and intriguingly unique plot.
Bouschor developed the characters very well, making all of them very realistic through their actions, mannerisms, and dialogue. Zack Sinclair’s military skills felt real and true to the character. The only thing that I didn’t find believable about the main character was the “super hero” type flair, which I detected throughout the drama and action. Having said that, I must admit that I really enjoyed the action as it kept me turning the pages and literally left me unable to put the book down.
This is a well written book and showed great quality as a final product. The story flowed throughout, and the font was a nice size, altogether making this an easy read. Bouschor’s writing style was engaging, suspenseful and entertaining. I believe the unique topic to be an excellent creative effort which will hook and thrill any action lover.
I can honestly recommend “Deadly Crossing” by Royal Bouschor to all readers who enjoy action packed, one hero stories. “Deadly Crossing” is definitely an enjoyable, entertaining and original novel that will hook the audience right from beginning and keep them captivated to the very end. I hope to see more from work from Royal Bouschor in the future.
