Being a high fiber kind of family, we don’t spend a lot of time in the bathroom, so there is not a lot of need to have reading material in there. However, I love these books and enjoy having one on my nightstand so that I can do some light reading before I go to sleep. The wealth of information in “Uncle John’s Canoramic Bathroom Reader” by Bathroom Readers’ Institute is tremendous. It is full of random facts that most people will find fascinating and perhaps wonder why they hadn’t already used Google to find information about a particular subject. Or perhaps they won’t. No matter what, this book is enjoyable and if it helps someone get through their least favorite part of the day, then pretty much everyone should have one of these books in their bathroom. As mentioned in their introduction, “Canoramic will give you a panoramic view of the world around you from the comfort of your can.”

Topics in this 27th edition include: movies, lost and found, science, food, international affairs, business and Americana. The list is extensive. The contents are divided into sections that are sized based upon how much time you might need to spend reading while you are on the can. They range from short, medium, and long to “extended” for those times when people need to remain seated until their legs go numb.

Quite often you will hear readers describe themselves as armchair travelers. For reader’s fond of the bathroom readers, they definitely will be seated travelers, just without the armrests. I highly recommend “Uncle John’s Canoramic Bathroom Reader” by Bathroom Readers’ Institute. If you don’t like it, you can always use the paper for something else.
