Kitchari is a healing soup from India that plays a critical role in Ayurvedic nutritional healing. In “The Amazing Healing Power of Kitchari” by Dr. Shasta Tierra, the author not only offers a recipe for this soup, she teaches the reader about Ayurveda and shows how they can determine where they fit into this program, based upon questions about their personal characteristics. Delicious recipes are also listed so that we can enjoy meals that use Kitchari as a base. Food suggestions are also listed so that people can learn which ones they should be eating and which ones to avoid.

Inspirational testimonials and pictures of people that have used this program are included, along with discussions as to how this program has helped their lives. While weight loss is a big part of eating Kitchari, other health benefits also follow, including pain reduction.

Personally, I have always been interested in learning more about Ayurvedic medicine but found a lot of the information available to be overwhelming. In “The Amazing Healing Power of Kitchari,” Dr. Shasta Tierra lays the information out in a very concise, easy to understand manner. I look forward to trying Kitchari and going deeper into Ayurvedic healing so that I will not only lose weight but also improve my health. I cannot wait to get started and look forward to seeing the results!
