I love fried food, but it doesn’t love me. When I first heard about the air fryer I was intrigued because I figured that I could make my fried recipes healthier and lower calorie. It’s a win-win for me, as long as they stay delicious. I wasn’t thinking very creatively because I was only thinking about using the machine for traditionally fried meals. “175 Best Air Fryer Recipes” by Camilla V. Saulsbury takes air frying to a whole new level. There are so many delicious foods waiting to be cooked, that I hadn’t previously considered. Avocado fries and parsnip fries are two new options for me that I look forward to trying. In addition to creating crispy low-fat treats, there are delicious choices that can replace other foods. In the case of the parsnips and avocados, it would be potatoes.
The air fryer can also be used to roast and bake, which open up even more options. The recipes all come with a nice description, dual measuring options including metric, and easily laid out directions. They really look fool-proof. The top 20 fried favorites covered traditional foods like French fries, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks and egg rolls. These traditionally simple foods would be good choices to use while learning how to use the machine. The chapters are divided into sections covering Breakfast and Brunch, Appetizers and Snacks, Entrees, Vegetables and Sides, Desserts, and finally Sauces and Dips. This is a very comprehensive selection.
The Parmesan Zucchini Fries are screaming my name right now! However, there are a lot of other delicious options to consider. This machine will be perfect for creating appetizers for a party! The dessert section is amazing. The dessert section includes too many options to list, but Funnel Cakes, Bananas Foster, Chocolate Lava Cave, and Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge Cake, all sound delicious and much better if they can be cooked with less fat! There are also vegetarian and some vegan options. The vegan choices include Falafel and Crisp Air Fried Tofu. I haven’t done the tofu yet, but it is next on my list. I currently use a waffle maker which is delicious, but a bit messy.
“175 Best Air Fryer Recipes” by Camilla V. Saulsbury offers great selections which anyone can easily make. I highly recommend using this cookbook, especially if you are new to the machine!
