In “Fever,” book two in the Club Inferno series by Jamie K. Schmidt, we follow Colleen and learn a bit about her past and finally find out what happened between her and Chase all those years ago. Chase has come back into her life to prove his love and try to right the wrongs of the past. But turning over a new leaf is proving to be a lot harder than either of them could have imagined. Colleen and Chase broke up years ago after a misunderstanding between a BDSM club and a bunch of drunk cheerleaders and Chase in bed together. Colleen has chosen to give Chase one more shot at her heart but don’t worry she is going to make him earn it this time.

Can Chase handle the lifestyle or will he tuck tail and run again? Colleen and Chase must work through their past and learn their present selves and see if they can coexist in a relationship where each other has changed so much over the past few years, growing sexually and emotionally. Only time will tell if they have each learned from their mistakes and if absence really does make the heart grow fonder?

I think Jamie K. Schmidt did an amazing job of keeping the storyline interesting yet very sexy at the same time. I very much enjoyed imagining and experiencing her take on a very sexually explorative novel. She has a writing style that makes you feel as if you are experiencing everything with the characters, not just reading about it. I was able to get a few ideas and understanding I hope to use in my personal life. If you are looking for a mature adult romance novel then this is the book and series for you!

I would very much like to see what the future holds for Colleen and Chase in this series. Will they get married after all or will the past come back to mess things up again? I also hope to keep getting updates into the other characters lives such as Anya and Clint, and maybe a peek into Dante’s love life?
