This is a very intriguing and thought-provoking story. It is the first book I have read from this author and, I have to admit, I was not expecting to have been so completely hooked from page one. There is humor mixed with a captivating look into the questions and, at some points, understanding surrounding theology and man’s desire to have the “important” matters regarding life and living answered.
This is a story of good versus evil, and the continual questions we have that have been discussed, argued, and have caused confusion since the very beginning of time. While the reader may still be befuddled and not have any clear resolutions when they are finished, it is certainly a unique way of putting forth those questions to a reader. In the story, we have the main character, the author, attempting to get answers to his questions by sending an actual request to Heaven in order to obtain them. Of course, this letter is put into his desk drawer and, with no expectation of ever actually getting answers, the writer attempts to move on. A few weeks later, the knock on his door in the middle of the night brings two representatives from opposite worlds—one being from Heaven and one being from Hell—to attempt to give him the information he desires. What follows is an interesting story that shows a complex plan that is putting the fate of Earth in his own hands as he tries to understand and deal with the balance between light and dark.
I loved this story and the unique way the author wrote it. It is done in an interview pattern between the main character and the representatives—Mr. Prince, who is a representative for Lucifer; and Michael, the famous Archangel, who is on Earth representing God. Mr. Makinde has an excellent writing style that is easy to read and enthralling from beginning to end. This book is well worth the read and will bring ideas to the reader that are quite challenging. Although you still may not have the answers at the end, it will definitely keep you hooked and help teach you some lessons about the beliefs and values that are working in our daily lives and…behind the scenes. I recommend this book to all who would like to have a truly fascinating and introspective literary experience!
